SPRAYING SOIL WITH WATER OR WITH TR500 AT 5%

When the earthworks are finished and drainage system installed, we move on to application of the TR500 layer. Long before, the road must be sprayed with plain water or with TOP ROAD 500C (TR500C) diluted to 95% water. The TOP ROAD 500C (TR500C) is the concentrated version of the TOP ROAD 500 which will be very often on the construction site to facilitate transport questions.

DISPLAYING OF THE GRAVEL

The gravel can be 0/31.5 of 0/25 of 0/20 of 0/10 or any others It can be displayed : - by hand for small areas ; - with a grader ; - or with a finisher, the process that we recommend for uniformity of the pavement and compliance with the required thickness. The gravel can have between 2 and 15 cm. It is possible to do a treatment layer by layer. For example for a layer of 30 cm, we will do twice 15 cm.

SPRAYING THE TOP ROAD 500

The TR500C, the concentrated version of the TR500 is the most widely used on construction sites. Dilutions will be made on this basis. In most cases, for 5 cm thickness of crushed material, 0,3 L/m2 of TR500C is required. The dilution will be done in most cases with 92% water (1 of TR500C for 11 L of water). The mixture will be sprayed homogeneously into the body of the already displayed gravel. It is necessary to make sure of the good spraying of the gravel.

COMPACTION

Following the spraying, the compactor will be able to pass and the whitish solution should be perceptible as it passes to be sure of the quality of the spraying. One vibrating pass is enough.

1ST SURFACE COAT SPRAYING AFTER COMPACTION OF DISPLAYED GRAVEL

It takes about 0,075 L/m2 TR500C diluted to 92% water in most cases. This spraying will take place at least 8 hours after compaction in many cases.

It takes about 0,075 L/m2 TR500C diluted to 80% water in most cases. This spraying will take place at least 8 hours after the first one in many cases.

COLOR COAT APPLICATION

It is possible to apply colored layers which can have different colors: Black, red, green... A test is made according to the dye available. And the application will be done with a sprayer or a sufficiently spraying tank (fine spray). It is good that this laying of colored layer is done at least 48 hours after the 2nd surface coat spraying. This in fact avoids possible uprooting when vehicles park if the road surface is not dry enough.
